Coach Andy Hay described Featherstone’s display in Friday’s 24-8 home defeat against London as the worst since he has been at the club.
“I didn’t see it coming and I don’t think the players did or any of the staff did but it’s happened and we’ve got to deal with it,” said Hay.
“The whole performance from start to finish was pretty embarrassing. The first half was bad and the second-half was probably even worse.
“Our completion rate was under 50 per cent and when you do that you struggle to put anything on with any purpose. Every time we tried to put something on, someone dropped the ball or made an error or gave away a penalty.
“It’s the worst performance since I’ve been at Featherstone and one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time.
“We just lacked everything. We had no enthusiam, energy or desire. We were beaten by a team who played very simple rugby and completed sets.”
