FEATHERSTONE Rovers stayed four points behind Kingstone Press Championship leaders Leigh with Friday’s 36-12 win against Keighley Cougars at Big Fellas Stadium.
Second-placed Rovers dominated an often scrappy game after building a 22-0 lead with three tries in a devastating six-minute first-half spell.
They retained control in the second period, with Will Sharp providing one of the highlights with a superb 45-yard solo effort and James Mendeika grabbing two well-taken tries.
Featherstone’s first-half try scorers were Tongan international Etu Uaisele, Greg Worthington, Ian Hardman and Andy Kain.
Gareth Moore kicked four goals.
Paul White bagged a first-half try for Keighley and they completed the scoring two minutes from time when Danny Jones went over and kicked his second conversion.
