Featherstone Rovers will be without hooker Matty Wildie until next month.

Wildie, a close-season signing from Dewsbury Rams, was stretchered off with a knee injury in a recent pre-season game against Leeds Rhinos.

Rovers coach Jon Sharp said: “Matty will have a tidy up on his knee. He will out about four weeks.

“It’s a big blow. We missed him at Bradford last Sunday.

“We are are manufacturing a number nine in Jonny Davies who I thought played well at Bradford.

“We lack strength in depth and we need to be a bit more resolute when we pick up injuries.

“We need to be a lot bit smarter in how we play when we recognise the fact that maybe a couple of blokes are playing out of position and having to fill in.”
