FEATHERSTONE Rovers have announced a club record sponsorship deal with Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron.

The new deal is the largest in Featherstone’s history and will see Bologna-based Macron be official kit supplier for 2013 and 2014, with the company manufacturing the club’s playing strip, replica kit, training wear and other clothing merchandise. The deal is comparable to sponsorship agreements at Super League level.

Macron are technical sportswear sponsor at a number of high profile football clubs including Serie A teams Lazio, Napoli and Bologna, English Premier League sides Aston Villa and West Ham and French outfit AS Monaco.

Featherstone have confirmed that their 2013 replica home shirt will be launched on December 13 and the away kit launched early in the New Year.

Rovers chief executive Craig Poskitt (pictured) said: “Due to the significance of this agreement, we have been negotiating for the past three to four months.

“With all the off-field progress being made commercially at the club, our strong presence in the community, growing fan base and our ‘Destination Super League’ campaign there were other technical sponsors wishing to create partnerships and be associated with the Featherstone Rovers brand.

“We are delighted to have successfully concluded negotiations with a global company like Macron which will be the envy of many clubs in the sport. Macron has shown tremendous dedication and enthusiasm for working with Featherstone Rovers and we are highly impressed with the eye-catching designs for 2013 which I am sure our loyal supporters will like and proud to be seen in.”

Ross Cook, Macron’s UK and Ireland sports marketing manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to continue the strong partnership formed with Featherstone who demonstrate to be at the forefront of their domestic and cup competitions. Therefore we very much support and believe in their destination Super League Campaign.

“We have worked closely with the Featherstone’s staff this year and believe the bespoke kit designs and retail range for next season shall keep all eyes very much on the players both on and off the field.

“Like Featherstone, Macron is a growing company that kits out such clubs as Aston Villa, West Ham and Leeds United all the way through to junior grass roots clubs in a full variety of sports. We see Featherstone as the club of the future so we proudly announce that they remain part of the Macron family”
