Featherstone Rovers stayed on course for a home semi-final in the Championship Shield with Sunday’s 28-16 win at bottom team Doncaster.
Rovers followed up the previous week’s win over Whitehaven by running in five tries and conceding only three in front of 886 spectators at the Keepmoat Stadium.
They led 12-10 at half-time and sealed victory when Kyran Johnson crossed two minutes from time.
Doncaster took a fifth minute lead with a try by Peter Fox.
Rovers replied two minutes later when Tim Spears went over but the home side regained the lead with Matt Groat’s 12th minute touchdown.
Steve Snitch, who is on loan from Doncaster, scored his his first try for Rovers three minutes before half-time and Paul Sykes added the second of his four goals to edge them in front.
They increased their lead in the second-half with tries from Matt James and Alex Foster.
Former Rovers player Dave Scott grabbed a 74th minute try and added his second goal to cut the gap but Rovers made the game safe with Johnson’s late score.
