Featherstone snap up Wakefield hooker Ellis

WAKEFIELD Wildcats hooker Andy Ellis has joined Championship neighbours Featherstone Rovers on a one-month’s loan that begins this week.

The 27-year-old former Harlequins, Barrow and Hull KR player (pictured) joined the Wildcats this season but has made only two appearances.

“Game time has been hard to come by for Andy,” said Wakefield coach Richard Agar.

“We see this as a great opportunity to get some time out on the field in a good side and help him strengthen his claims for a place when he returns.”

Rovers coach Daryl Powell added: “We are delighted to welcome Andy to Featherstone. He is a quality addition to our squad and will provide competition for places at a crucial time of the season.”
