Fryston Warriors trounced a gallant young Featherstone Lions side 78-1 in last night’s Castleford and Featherstone ARL David Poulter Open Cup final.
Fryston, who had won the toss for home advantage, were 46-0 ahead at the break.
Wayne McHugh, who won the Craig Hopson Memorial Shield as man of the match, bagged six tries and kicked five goals.
Adam Kerry scored a hat-trick and Jack Pickering and Ryan Dyson grabbed a brace apiece.
Other touchdowns went to Andy Matthews, Jack Smith, Dale Wynn and Kyle Stanley as the far more experienced Fryston team ran riot.
Torren Longstaff kicked a drop goal for Featherstone when they were trailing 68-0.
