National Conference: Lock Lane and Featherstone Lions enjoy first victories
Lock Lane are up and running in the National Conference after a convincing 30-0 success against Bradford Dudley Hill in League F.
The Castleford outfit had to wait 18 minutes before Baily O’Connor opened their account, the same player adding another score six minutes later for a 12-0 interval lead. O’Connor completed his hat-trick a minute into the second period and the hosts sealed their emphatic win with tries in an eight-minute period straddling the hour mark for Nathan Fozzard and Chris Siddons, Tom Egan adding his fifth conversion from as many attempts. Featherstone Lions also enjoyed their first Conference win of the season as they emphatically put their opening day defeat behind them with a 60-6 hammering of Hull Dockers in a Cross League game. Jake Perkins grabbed four tries in the visitors’ romp and the Lions were 28-0 up by half-time before Perkins opened his account three minutes after the resumption.Danny Glassell, Connor Hanson, Kieran Redfearn and, Ian Jackson, twice, had already crossed for Featherstone, while Redfearn and Mike Wise added tries in the second half. Jackson kicked eight goals.
