Legends of the Great Britain team which famously beat Australia in Sydney in 1988 will be reunited at Castleford Tigers’ ground on Tuesday.
The event has been organised by rugby league writer Richard de la Rivière, who will be launching his new book – ‘Rugby League, A Critical History: 1980-2013’.
Castleford legend Malcolm Reilly, who played for and coached the club with distinction, will be present. He coached the Lions on the 1988 tour and led Great Britain to two other wins over Australia.
Man of the match Andy Gregory will be there, as will winger Henderson Gill and Hugh Waddell.
Injured squad members Lee Crooks and Garry Schofield will also be in attendance, as well as other ex-Castleford and Great Britain greats.
A DVD of the match will be shown.
The event will take place in the Wish Communications suite at the stadium, starting at 7pm.
The book features plenty of Castleford-related material, including six ex-Cas players in the best 100 players list.
