For those debating whether to get tickets and experience some world class rugby league, here are five reasons why you should.

1. New Zealand come into RLWC2021 as the number one team in the World, with some of the very best players to grace the sport of rugby league in their midst.

Peppered with stars from the NRL and Super League, New Zealand are looking to win the World Cup for the second time, adding to their 2008 triumph.

2. The Kiwi’s got their RLWC2021 campaign off to a strong start, with a 34-12 victory over a resilient and talented Lebanon side and will be looking to make a statement as they take on tournament new-comers, Jamaica in their second RLWC2021 fixture. Look out for star players, Brandon Smith, Jahrome Hughes, and James Fisher-Harris, as well as Joseph Manu, whose sensational try on matchday 1 will already take some beating for the try of the tournament. Check out the try and the other highlights here.

3. Jamaica’s Reggae Warriors, led by Huddersfield Giant’s Ashton Golding, showed in their opening game that they are going to fight with everything they have to make an impact at RLWC2021.

Massive underdogs in the tournament, Jamaica lost their opening fixture to an impressive Ireland side, and it doesn’t get any easier for them as they take on New Zealand this weekend.

But they won’t be deterred, and fans at the fixture can be sure to see some entertaining and exciting rugby league from the tournament debutantes. Fans should keep an eye on Michael Lawrence, Ben Jones-Bishop, and Alex Young, who all have the potential to cause New Zealand some problems.

4. Hull’s impressive MKM Stadium will play host to this fixture, and the city’s passionate and knowledgeable rugby league fan base is set to deliver a terrific atmosphere on Saturday evening under the lights.

5. The Rugby League World Cup 2021 Cultural Festival also rolls into Hull pre-match on Saturday October 22.

Capturing the atmosphere and energy of the sport and bringing it to the city streets, the Power of Performance: This is Us! will tell three distinct stories about rugby league and its people, charting how it has evolved from its roots to the sport we see today.
