Following the success of the original centres based in Castleford and Pontefract, the Elite Academy is opening up at two venues in Wakefield next month.

And co-owner Ryan has left his job as head of youth at Wakefield Wildcats to concentrate on the business, which has taken off more than the two former Cas players thought it would when they started out in 2012, offering professional coaching and aiming to educate, inspire and help youngsters to realise their full potential.

He said: “I am ready for a new challenge and that is to concentrate on my business interests.

“The Elite Rugby Academy I set up with Danny has gone from strength to strength. We are currently coaching over 250 kids a week, we have introduced numerous kids to the amateur game, produced three scholarship players and looking to grow the business nationwide.

“We are launching in Wakefield on February 16 with Wildcats and former Castleford player Joe Arundel and Bradford Bulls player Jay Pitts.”

The chance to be coached by professional players will be offered at two venues in Wakefield. Weekly sessions are set to start at Wakefield City Academy, Warmfield View on Tuesday, February 16 and Kettlethorpe High School, Kettlethorpe Hall Drive on Friday, February 19. Both will run 6-7pm for four to seven-year-olds and 7-8pm for eight to 14-year-olds.

Places are limited, but for more details or to book a place at any of the academy sessions, go to www.eliterugbyacademy.com or ring 07792282145.
