“They have got everything in place to reach their dream of Super League and I can’t wait to be on the pitch helping them achieve their ambitions.

“There is a real buzz about the place at the moment with all the lads gelling well. “

Rovers head coach John Bastian expects Sunley to push his claims for first-team rugby next season.

“Josh is a larger than life character and has energy in abundance coupled with bags of enthusiasm,” said Bastian.

“Josh needs to challenge himself at Featherstone Rovers. To support his football development and personal attributes he must maintain high professional standards and I expect him to push hard to play some first grade games in 2014.

“He is a talented player and individual who has come through an excellent system and he will continue his development at Rovers.

“For all players involved at Featherstone Rovers, talent only takes you so far in this tough sport. Making the right choices in other areas of your life has a huge bearing on the outcomes of your football ability and I am very keen that all my players are aware of this.”
