JASON Walton looks set to make a long-awaited Featherstone Rovers return after being included in the King Street Solicitors 19-man squad for the Summer Bash clash against Halifax on Saturday (kick-off 5.15pm).
The talented three-quarter has undergone nine months of intense rehabilitation and has been passed fit to feature against the top-four hopefuls at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road after overcoming a serious knee injury.
Walton, who arrived at the club last January, underwent a knee reconstruction in September and returned to full training last month.
He is back in contention alongside Anthony Thackeray, Gareth Hock and Mitch Clark.
Connor Farrell has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks after suffering a broken leg against Leigh Centurions last time out.
Martyn Ridyard is still undergoing tests to determine the full extent of a shoulder injury sustained in the same fixture, though he will face a spell on the sidelines.
The pair are therefore ruled out along with Josh Walters and Jack Ormondroyd, who have been recalled by injury-hit parent club Leeds Rhinos.
The King Street Solicitors 19-man squad: Ian Hardman, Shaun Robinson, Luke Briscoe, Anthony Thackeray, Scott Wheeldon, Keal Carlile, Richard Moore, John Davies, James Lockwood, Matty Wildie, Gareth Hock, Luke Cooper, Jason Walton, Tom Holmes, Josh Hardcastle, Brad Knowles, Sam Brooks, Mitch Clark, Harry Newman.
The club has less than 50 tickets remaining for our Saturday May 26 battle with Halifax, so supporters are being advised to hurry and call 01977 702386 if they want to save now.
