Two new teams join Tour de Yorkshire line-up

Two new teams have been added to the line-up for the first ever Tour de Yorkshire.

British teams Raleigh-GAC and JLT-Condor have both been invited to compete in the race.

Their inclusion means there will be more Yorkshire riders on the start line.

The Yorkshire quartet of track star Ed Clancy, Graham Briggs and the Moses brothers, Tom and Joe, ride for JLT Condor.

The teams will compete alongside Team Wiggins, Team SKY, British Cycling and former England cricket star Matt Prior’s team One Pro Cycling.

Tour de France winner Sir Bradley Wiggins and sprinter Marcel Kittel, who won the first stage of last year’s Tour de France in Harrogate, will be among the other big names taking part.

There are now 18 teams in the Tour de Yorkshire, which runs from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3.

Stage one starts in Bridlington and finishes in Scarborough.

Stage two starts in Selby and finishes in York with a women’s race also on day two.

Stage three on starts in Wakefield and finishes in Leeds.
