WAKEFIELD Wildcats skipper Kirmond is looking forward to facing former club Featherstone Rovers on Sunday.
The 27-year-old spent three successful years at Post Office Road and Sunday’s trial game will represent the first time he has gone up against Rovers since his departure in 2007.
“It’s a game I’m really looking forward to,” admitted Kirmond.
“I spent some good years at Featherstone and it’ll be the first time that I’ve actually played against them since I left.
“It’ll be a really good test for us because they did really well last season.
“It’s a local derby too so hopefully it’ll be as entertaining for the fans as the Boxing Day match [that Wakefield played against Leeds Rhinos] was.”
Kirmond played on the wing during his days with the Flat Cappers and scored 25 tries in 32 appearances during his final season at the club before moving to Super League with Huddersfield Giants.
