Hometown star Corinne added to Live at Leeds line-up

Live at Leeds' tenth anniversary celebration is set to go with an even bigger bang following the announcement that the city's own Corinne Bailey Rae has been added to the 2016 line-up.

The award-winning Corinne is one of more than 80 new names added to the festival’s line-up, joining the already stellar line-up of current trendsetters and future stars.

Already confirmed were 2015’s biggest pop sensation, Brit Award-nominee Jess Glynne, fast rising Liverpool four piece Circa Waves, indie legends We Are Scientists, NME award winner Rat Boy, and a plethora of exciting acts like Ghostpoet, Blossoms, Izzy Bizu and Blood Red Shoes.

Now they will be joined by Leeds’ very own Corinne Bailey Rae. Six years on from her last studio album, Corinne is back. Her new, uplifting album ‘The Heart Speaks in Whispers’ was revealed last the week, alongside lead single ‘Been To The Moon.’

Also joining the bill is Shura, who is set to have a huge year with the release of her debut album ‘Nothing’s Real’ as well as Australia’s DMA’s who will be following up a massively successful sold-out UK tour and huge new album.

Sheffield’s Slow Club return to the festival having played the first ever Live at Leeds and they are also celebrating 10 years as a band.

International indie band The Boxer Rebellion, who release their fifth studio album this year, the day before Live at Leeds are also set for an appearance.

Further additions to the mouth watering line-up are Cardiff’s alternative rock favourites Future Of The Left, Manchester’s Spring King, Glasgow’s Fatherson, psychedelic trio Night Beats and the fast rising Jones join Will Joseph Cook.

Fresh new Leeds acts announced include Fizzy Blood, NARCS, Clay, Skinny Living, Altar Hanglands, ZoZo, Party Hardly and Atlantic Shore.

Speaking about this year’s talent, booker Aaron Snowdon commented: “This announcement has a special Leeds feel, with some of the very best local bands taking the stage and announcing a Leeds legend, Corinne Bailey Rae.”

Speaking about the festival’s 10-year legacy Colin Oliver, director of Futuresound, said: “We have seen some great names grace our stages over those 10 years and I’m really looking forward to this year and what will hopefully be our biggest event yet, it really feels like we are stepping up another level.”

With more names to be announced, as well as details on the accompanying digital programme, Live At Leeds 10th Anniversary is set to be a true celebration of creativity and originality – and a great way to kick-start the 2016 festival season.
