Caleb was just 10 years old when he was cast as an extra in the film, which stars Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key and Hugh Bonneville and tells the story of a once-joyful toymaker who finds new hope when his granddaughter comes into his life.

After travelling to location in Reading last year, Caleb, now 12, celebrated his birthday on set and took part in a number of scenes, including a dance number.

He even makes an appearance in the film’s trailer as one of the children entering the toy shop at around 38 seconds.

Mum Melanie said: “Caleb started dancing when he was six and then it’s just become more and more of a passion for him. It’s something he’d like to make a career from.

“He’s so excited as well, I just can’t wait to sit down and watch it. All his friends and family are so excited.”

Melanie thanked Manchester-based Soar Dance, which provides opportunities for dancers, for helping to secure Caleb a role in the film.

And she praised his primary school for accommodating the opportunity - even allowing him to postpone his SATs to attend the filming.

She said: “Caleb wants to be a performer, and this is the highlight of his career so far.

“It’s all experience for him, and he’s just happy to roll with it and see what comes his way.”

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey will be available on Netflix from November 13.
