New social distancing rules will be in place, and all tickets will need to be booked online in advance.

In a statement on their website, Reel said: "To minimise your interaction with our staff cinema, all tickets will need to be booked in advance online: you will not be able to buy tickets from the cinema box office.

"A selection of concessions will also be available to pre-order online. They will be pre-packed and ready for collection on the day of the cinema foyer. A limited selection of pre-packed concessions will also be available to purchase at the cinema, where contactless payment will be encouraged.

"Upon arrival at the cinema please have your e-tickets available on your mobile phone or have your unique booking code with you to minimise contact with cinema staff.

"To maintain social distancing within the cinema auditorium there will be significantly fewer seats available, so be sure to book your tickets as early as possible if you would like to be able to choose which seats to reserve."

The Ridings will continue to offer free parking to cinema customers, with dedicated shopping centre entrances remaining open until midnight for cinema customers to use.

Reel Cinema Wakefield will reopen from Friday, July 31.
