Nothing abominable about this yeti

A professional theatre performance is visiting community spaces across Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Birstall during half term this week.

Eco-adventure ‘Horace and the Yeti’ will follow intrepid Victorian adventurer Horace, who is out hunting yeti.

The fearless explorer is trekking across the Himalayas, hoping to find one of the legendary abominable snowmen.

Creative Scene brings you this magical family tale about the furry creature who is guarding a priceless jewel, which is wanted by Queen Victoria herself.

But things change when Horace actually meets the Yeti, who turns out to be far from abominable.

Together they head off on a journey through the valley of Shangri-La, where mythical beasts live hidden from humanity.

But Horace has to make a choice: will it be personal glory or saving the natural world?

Jack Dean, who has written and stars in the show as Horace, says this eco-adventure is perfect for children under 8 and their families.

Jack says: “Horace and his new friend, head off on a magical journey full of amazing mythical beasts.

“The cast of two will guide children in the audience through a gently interactive hour of adventurous storytelling that combines a finely crafted script with a strong visual identity that includes extensive use of shadow puppetry, with an original music score.

“We also introduce the young audience to the importance of ecological conservation, while offering a rich theatrical experience.” The dates and venues for performances are:
