Tony Wade began his project in Friday, March 20, just three days before lockdown began.
He said: “Originally I was going to spend some time outdoors painting and then all of a sudden I couldn’t do that any more.

“So I thought I’d carry on , but I’d go on my daily exercise walk and then from photographs and memories I’d paint a view of Wakefield for people who can’t go out.”
Tony has now completed more than 20 of the paintings, which vary from scenic views of the city to detailed portrayals of landmarks.
“People have stories about these places,” he said. “All those places you think are quite ordinary are actually very special.”
