Wakefield police are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was hit by a car in Wakefield.

A silver VW Golf hit a pedestrian at Newton Hill roundabout on Bar Lane at around 2.45pm on Monday, July 13.

The pedestrian, an 84-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital at this time.

She was helped at the time by two people who left the scene before speaking to police.

Officers would like to speak to those two people who helped the pedestrian and any other people who may have witnessed the collision.
