Woman rushed to hospital after crash on Dewsbury road

A woman has been taken to hospital after a road traffic collision in Dewsbury this afternoon.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they had been called at 12.13pm to reports of a two car road traffic collision on Leeds Road.

One woman was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following the incident.

Traffic remains heavy in the area, including on Owl Lane, while emergency services work to remove the vehicles.

Arriva Yorkshire said that some services had been diverted as a result of the collision.

In a tweet, the company said: "Service Disruption. Due to a Police Incident at Owl Lane Shaw Cross our 202 / 203 services will divert via Owl Lane Estate towards Leeds, Dewsbury bound traffic NOT AFFECTED."
